New Zealand Institute of Professional Photographers


The New Zealand institute of professional photographers is active in Wellington, holding regular seminars, meetings and competitions. Many of the professional wedding and portrait photographers in Wellington are members of the NZIPP. The Organisation offers levels of qualification for members, which give customers some peace of mind when choosing a photographer

The Photographic Society of New Zealand


The photographic society of New Zealand is open to everyone in New Zealand and has a number of affiliated clubs around the country. The organisation was founded in 1953 and has a large membership of both amateurs and professional photographers.

The PSZN publishes the NZ CAmera book every year, from the members own pictures and is a great photography book full of fantastic photography

The 2009 PSNZ convention is being held on the 19th April in Whanganui and has the following speakers

Wellington Photographic Society


The Wellington Photographic Society has been around for a long time and was in fact formed in 1892. The society meets twice a month, with guest speakers, competitions and educational events. The WPS has a diverse membership, catering for both amateur and professionals with special interest groups and notable photographers lending their support.

The Hutt Camera Club


A small friendly photographic club of around 50 members, based in the lower Hutt area. The club has regular competitions and meets twice a month to socialise and learn.
